Immigration policy changes from 25 November 2023 – Fantastic news for 457/482 visa holders

1.Short term TSS  2-year 482 visa holders can renew their visas onshore. Previously, a 482 visa can only be renewed one time onshore. From 25 November 2023, 482 visa holders can apply to renew their visas for the third or fourth time onshore.

2.Short term TSS 482 visa holders including those under labour agreements will be able to apply for sc186 permanent visa through the Temporary Residence Transition (TRT) stream under the Employment Nomination Scheme (ENS).

3.482/457 visa holders are eligible to apply for sc186 visa through TRT stream after working for their sponsor for two (2) years within (3) three years while holding a sc482/457 visa.

4.COVID Age exemption for legacy 457 visa holders applying for 186 TRT visa continues until 30 June 2024.
