Immigration News and Changes effective 1 July 2018

The following changes in Australian immigration take effect on 1 July 2018:

  1. Visa fees and charges increased – www.homeaffairs.gov.au/trav/visa/fees
  1. Specific visa changes
  • Partner and Prospective Marriage visas (sc820/801, 309/100 & 300) must be lodged online via ImmiAccount. Applications made in person or paper-based will not be accepted.
  • Parent visa applications (sc103, 804, 173/143, 884/864) must be sent by post or courier to the Perth Visa and Citizenship Office. Applications made in person are no longer accepted.
  • Other family visa applications: Carer (sc116 and 836), Remaining Relative (sc115 and 835), and Aged Dependent Relative (sc114 and 838) must be sent by post or courier to the Perth Visa and Citizenship Office. Payments of visa fees can be made online through the ImmiAccount.
  • Paper-based Tourist Stream Visitor visa (sc600) must be sent by post to: Department of Home Affairs, Onshore Visitor Visa Processing, GPO Box 9984, Sydney, NSW 2001 Australia; or by courier to: Department of Home Affairs, Onshore Visitor Visa Processing, Level 3, 26 Lee Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia.
  • Sponsored Family Stream Visitor visa (sc600) must be sent by post to: Department of Home Affairs, SFVPC, GPO Box 9984, Sydney, NSW 2001, Australia; or by courier to: Department of Home Affairs, SFVPC, Level 3, 26 Lee Street, Sydney, NSW 2000, Australia.

 

  1. General Skilled Migration visas sc189, 190 and 489 – minimum points raised to 65.
