From 22 August 2016, an RMA who is also a holder of an Australian Legal Practising Certificate will receive 10 CPD points.  This is in recognition of the fact that lawyers are required to complete ongoing professional development/continuing legal education in order to retain their practising certificate.

Australian Legal Practitioner RMAs who update their practising certificate after 22 August 2016 will be automatically awarded 10 CPD points.

Australian Legal Practitioner RMAs who have already updated their current practising certificate will have their records manually adjusted by the OMARA to award the necessary 10 CPD points.  In all of these situations, no further action is required by the agent.

These arrangements will remain in place until Australian Legal Practitioner RMAs are removed from the regulatory scheme subject to the passing of legislation in the Australian Parliament.
