New Queensland BIIP and QSOL criteria to take effect 25 July 2016

The new Queensland Skilled Occupation List (QSOL) and Queensland Business Criteria for the Business, Innovation and Investment Program (BIIP) have been approved by the Queensland Government.

Starting on 25 July 2016, the following changes will take effect:

Subclass 132 Business Talent (Significant Business History Stream)

Net Business and Personal Assets of AUD1.5 million to be transferred to Queensland within 2 years after visa is granted including:

  • minimum AUD1million investment in a business
  • minimum AUD500,000 settlement costs
  • must reside in Queensland

 

Subclass 188 Business Innovation and Investment

1. Innovation Stream: Net Business and Personal Assets of AUD800,000 to be transferred to Queensland within 2 years after visa is granted including:

  • minimum AUD200,000 investment in a business
  • must reside in Queensland

2. Investor Stream: Existing criteria remains the same; must reside in Queensland

3. Significant Investor Stream (SIV):

  • current Austrade Complying Investment Framework
  • commitment to Queensland

 

Queensland Skilled Occupation List (QSOL)

The new QSOL will be released and come into effect on 25 July 2016.

BSMQ will suspend processing Expressions of Interest (EOI) from Thursday 14 July until Friday 22 July 2016 in order to update the relevant fact sheets and application forms, and the new QSOL.

From Monday 25 July 2016, BSMQ will commence processing EOI’s under the newly approved business criteria & QSOL list.
