457 Visa Delays Cause Frustration

Delays in processing section 457 visas get small businesses up in arms, reports John Durie in his column in The Australian.

The Department of Immigration and Border Protection boasts of processing claims in 40 working days or eight weeks, but small business people complain of delays of more than four months to get some people through the door.

The delays are said to be in stark contrast to the government’s message in last week’s budget of clearing the hurdles to make it easier for small business.
