An increase in Australian Passport application fee will be implemented starting on 1 January 2019. The relevant legislative instrument– F2018L01803 – Australian Passports (Application Fees) Amendment Determination 2018—provides for the following fee increase for Australian passports and other travel documents:
- $6 for an Australian passport valid for up to 10 years and issued to an adult or a child aged 16 or 17 years – ordinary Australian passport will now cost $293.00
- $3 for all other travel documents
- $25 for priority processing and for the surcharge payable in respect of adult applications made overseas
- $10 for surcharge payable in respect of child applications made overseas
