Changes on Work and Holiday Visas for Chile and Malaysia

Legislative Instrument LIN 19/088- F2019L00140 has been passed, amending among others the Work and Holiday Visa (WHV) application processes of Chilean and Malaysian passport holders as follows:

  • Removes the requirement for Chilean passport holders to provide evidence of government support for the grant of their visa (Schedule 1)
  • Provides Malaysian passport holders access to online application process or other authorised means of applying (Schedule 1). Consequently, postal and physical lodgement addresses in Malaysia have also been removed (Schedule 2).

 

The amendments apply to visa applications lodged after the date the amendments take effect.  Sections 1 to 4 and Schedule 1 of the Instrument come into effect on 18 February 2019, while Schedule 2 takes effect on 4 March 2019.
